The retreat centre project

Many projects have taken shape since the birth of Dargye Ling, but can a retreat centre be called as such without providing practitioners with on-site accommodation? There lies the expression of the third wish of Lama Guendune Rinpoche.

A significant architectural work, approved by Their Holiness Karmapa and Shamar Rinpoche, has been put on paper, propelling us into the future of the retreat centre some years from now. Seven steps of construction work have been identified to complete the project :

• A centre for short retreats and the construction of a workshop.
  
• The fitting out of the barn with a large temple dedicated to Amitabha.
  
• The fitting out and restructuring of the existing temple.
  
• A centre for individual retreats and a technical room.
  
• A centre with a temple for medium retreats.
  
• The construction of a house for His Holiness Karmapa.
  
• A retreat centre for Lamas and Druplas.

Today priority is given to the construction of the first 2 buildings, located in the short-time retreat centre area. Both buildings include 2 shared bathrooms, and 8 rooms each equipped with a small kitchen.

There will also be a reception office and a meeting room are in one of the buildings, and an
accommodation unit for disabled visitors in the other.
